BIOS

John Forster, composer
John Forster is an American composer, lyricist, humorist, record producer and performer whose work spans musical theater, children’s entertainment, and satire.
While earning a degree in music from Harvard University, Forster founded the revue The Proposition and wrote for the Hasty Pudding Theatricals. He has written lyrics and music for musicals and revues on and off Broadway, including Freaky Friday (with composer Mary Rodgers), How to Eat Like a Child, Pretzels, A Good Swift Kick, Eleanor: An American Love Story, and others.
His solo recording career includes the albums Entering Marion (1994), Helium (1997), and Location, Location, Location (2023). Forster has also collaborated extensively with children’s performers — most notably Tom Chapin — producing and writing over a dozen albums for young audiences, earning four Grammy nominations in that field.
Forster’s songs have been recorded by Faith Hill, Judy Collins, Roseann Cash, Dave Van Ronk, among many others.  He is also a published author of books such as This Pretty Planet (based on one of his songs) and the test prep humor book The BSAT Official Study Guide.

Arthur Yorinks, writer

Arthur Yorinks is an American author, librettist, playwright, director, and innovator in audio theatre. From a young age, he studied classical piano under Robert Bedford, originally intending a musical career. But by his late teens Yorinks had turned toward writing and the performing arts, drawn to the power of narrative, collaboration, and sound.
Over more than five decades, Yorinks has authored over 40 acclaimed books for children and adults, including Hey, Al, which won the Caldecott Medal in 1987. He has collaborated with many noted illustrators—Maurice Sendak, Richard Egielski, David Small, Mort Drucker among them.
His work is not limited to books. Yorinks has written libretti for operas by Philip Glass, including The Juniper Tree and The Fall of the House of Usher. He has directed and produced plays, dance/theater works, and numerous original audio plays, often blending live performance with sound in innovative ways.
A pioneer of what he calls A New Theater of Sound, Yorinks continues to explore the intersections of sound, narrative, and theater, crafting works for children and adults alike.

Loved John's music. There's bits of Liszt and Stravinsky mixed in with the classic carols. Great to fun to play.”

Elliott Forrest, producer/director
Elliott Forrest is an acclaimed American broadcaster, director, producer, and multimedia designer whose work spans radio, concerts, television, and symphonic live experiences.
Born in Texas, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theater from the University of Texas at Austin. His early career involved hands-on work in local television and radio, where his eagerness and initiative helped him land his first production and on-air roles while still a teenager.
Forrest has been a fixture in New York classical radio: he is the weekday afternoon host on WQXR (105.9 FM), and also hosts and produces the nationally syndicated concerts of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Beyond radio, he's produced, directed, and designed large-scale symphonic concerts with many major orchestras—Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, and others—in prestigious venues from Lincoln Center to the Hollywood Bowl.
He also works in multimedia: theatrical and visual design elements, projection, and storytelling are central to many of his concerts and special projects. Produces concerts for Itzhak Perlman and Michael Feinstein. He is the Executive Artistic Director of ArtsRock.org in Rockland County, New York, and has been involved in projects including PBS specials (such as Considering Matthew Shepard), staged productions, narrated orchestral concerts, and lectures.
